Abity Abity Abity... that's all folks!

You asked for it America... well at least the majority of you did. Madam Speaker, are you really saying what I think you're saying?

Gateway Pundit links an interesting historical comparison between the war in Iraq and Vietnam

Took this from Dr. M...

Datha, I consider you more intelligent than buying into this. To be a little objective, in despite of my subjective human nature, politicians from both sides can have their statements tracked and they will ALL have contradictory statements. We are in a livng breathing changing world, and I want a leader who does change their mind when they realize they need to, as opposed to someone who is so stuck on their theory that when there needs to be a change of course they miss it because they have such a narrow view. I admire nancy Pelosi a lot. She has been as inspiration to me, but I also know she is human, and I dont' expect her to be perfect. Not only that, that blogger wrote that the democrats are gonna lose another war for this country, well frankly what war is ever won (speaking more philosophically and ethically), and a war on TERROR is an illusion because it's a war on an abstract idea, not on anything specific and that cannot be one, well not by a war, yes it mainifests itself through the actions of some people, but during the US's mess with Ncaragua the UN declared the US terrorists. ANd you'd better believe the Presidency knows that, so all this jargon about the war is a lot more clever than people think, not because it's true but because once again the public has been fooled by rhetoric. I trust you as one of the few I knwo in houston that will be open enough to step back and really evaluate things as opposed to follow the hype of others, be well, much love, kiss mason for me.

Nancy Pelosi is pro-Choice. She is pro taxes. She is pro
Big-government. For those suckled at the government teet, her election
is great news. For anyone paying taxes or working, her power rise is
disheartening.

But the worst thing about Pelosi and the Dems in general is her
perspective on the War on Terror. Nancy Pelosi would do what to fight
terrorists? Nothing? That's what Clinton did and that's how 9/11
happened. Not enough intelligence. Funding for spies removed. So yes,
America had faulty intelligence. 3,000 lives might have been saved.
Since America has become aware of the threat, we have not been
attacked in five years. I'm no mindless drone fan of Bush's (SSN
reform dropped, illegal immigration stupiditiy, and bloated budgets to
name a couple problematic stances), but he has done his fair share to
fight the number one enemy of our time: Islamofascism.

ALL wars are wars of ideas. People use guns and bombs to fight them.
Hitler fought for an idea--that white people were superior and that
the German state was supreme. They were insane ideas and HAD TO BE
STOPPED. The fascist elements of the Islamic world are no different.
(Women as possessions should be a tad worrisome to a woman--or is the
threat so distant and oblique that only another World Trade Center
attack will focus the mind?). This fight will take America over
borders and boundaries because states coddle, support materially and
strengthen these elements. So, Somalia gets bombed. Good. Afghanistan
gets cleared of the Taliban. Iraq serves as the central theater of the
war where battles can be fought from. America had to find turf
somewhere. Saddam Hussein's despotic regime was as good as any.

Am I to understand that bombings here and there on America's interests
should be ignored? Am to understand that nearly 4,000 American lives
lost mean absolutely nothing (I'm including the nearly thousand lives
lost over the previous decade under Clinton.) And how will all these
weepy soft-hearts feel when their dolls and clothes go up 100% in cost
because terrorists stand on the turf between America and China and
India?

Am I to understand that the terrorists should be ignored and they'll
go away? Sure, that'll happen. Paris has 200-400 cars burned A NIGHT
by "disaffected youths".

I know it is psychologically difficult to acknowledge an existential
threat. It's scary to worry that a plane could crash, that terrorists
come across the southern and Northern border, that there are terrorist
cells here in America. It's uncomfortable. It's also the truth.

The Democrats like too many Americans are squeamish in the face of
this truth. They don't like the death and destruction that occurs when
facing this truth. Better the fight by our soldiers over there, than
the very real possibility of civilians dying here. And, by the way,
the death rate in New Orleans is higher than the death rate in all of
Iraq. Unless you live in certain parts of Bagdad, you would be much
safer there than in an American City.

And anyone who reads seriously what the UN says about America being
terrorists whether in Nicaragia or anywhere else is hopeless. The
institution is anti-American from stem to stern and has raised moral
equivalence to an art form. This is the same joint that has Sudan on
their Human Rights commission. Am I to believe that America is a more
rights-depriving place than Sudan where armed groups of racist and
terrorist thugs rape and pillage at will?

For more information, have your cousin/relative read Dr. Sanity and
Jeff Goldstein at Protein Wisdom. Nancy Pelosi isn't evil, she's a
politician of expedience. Her beliefs lead her to corrupt policies.
Time will bear that out.
